About Us

Originally a string bass player (predominately) Rick became interested in piano technology around the time he graduated from Chico State College (BA in music) and studied at the San Francisco school of piano technology. In 1986 he started working for Reiks Music in San Jose Ca. tuning and refurbishing pianos, gaining a wealth of experience tuning, rebuilding, refinishing and moving pianos.

In 1988 he married Camilla, a fine pianist and professional accompanist and they moved to Eugene to start a life together.  Rick has been fortunate to learn from fine local technicians, as well as nationally known teachers and factory representatives (including the head of Steinway Technical Services)  at many P.T.G. (Piano Technicians Guild) sponsored seminars through the years.

He continues to attend seminars regularly when he can and is always open to learning new techniques and improving old ones. Rick is still active as a bass player - mostly with the Eugene Symphony, and has also been playing with the Oregon Mozart Players, occasional jazz gigs and chamber music, and when he finds the time - recording projects at home...
